Okay, I put a tower on top or our TV stand so we could watch some of the awesome free over the air digital programming that my kids enjoy so much.
As it turns out Vista MCE doesn't give guide data for subchannels... we watch 63-002... qubo... a whole bunch, there's only 15 shows, but I never record, since they always show the wrong one.
That is enough for me to dump MCE right now. Which kind of sucks, because I really like it otherwise... and I have those MCE keyboards and remotes. The green button is bound to be less elegant in Snapstream's solution, since they have their own remote... Who knows... the remote that comes with the tuners I bought might work out even better.
I doubt I'll be using that crappy software that comes with the tuner, maybe SageTV... maybe back to MythTV...
I'm sensing a theme... Get burned by Microsoft... turn to Linux...

I have the same problem. My kids enjoy Qubo a lot, but no guide is annoying.
I been scouring the web to see if the guide data can be manually added/loaded somehow, but didn't find much thus far.
If you hear anything, drop me a note.
I tried the hack over at The Green Button forums where you copy lineup information from cable or satellite using the registry. I wasn't happy with Vista's display of the channels, and it was so, "hackish". I ended up figuring out MythTV, and haven't really looked back. I also found that my tuners were a bit more sensitive using MythTV for some reason. I wanted to pick up the CW so I could watch Smallville, and I couldn't do that in Vista.
i had the same problem, which was corrected in windows 7. hope that is patch availabe.
mogulboy: I think that Windows 7 will be a great step in correcting lots of Vista's issues. I liked using Windows 7 and recommended the Beta (which is still open) to my brother for his OTA digital Home Media Center setup. I'd use it, but I ended up going back to my Series 1 TiVo and basic cable. :( My brother has my old gear. LOL.
